Roundtable Discussion on “The Role of Youth in Promoting Human Rights and Social Justice in a Democratic Society”
On June 26, 2024, the Cambodian Youth Network (CYN) organized a roundtable discussion on “The Role of Youth in Promoting Human Rights and Social Justice in a Democratic Society.” The event took place throughout the morning at Tonle Bassac 2 Restaurant, Phnom Penh, with a mix of young people, students, about 30 participants (13 females).
The panel discussion was attended by three expert speakers on human rights and youth activism, including Dr. Pa Chanroeun, President of the Institute of Democracy, Mr. Heng Kimhong, President of the Cambodian Youth Network Association, Ms. Ream Srey Pich Ratana, Secretary General of the Khmer Student Intellegent League Association.
This program is divided into two main parts. First, the intervention on youth participation to promote social justice in a democratic society. Second, roundtable discussion, forum, expression and Q&A program.
This forum is a safe place for young people to raise their voices, raise issues, express themselves, understand the human rights situation, social justice and the role of youth as active citizens.
